Notes: Chris Drury seems a certain, but with Brandon Dubinsky and the Rangers unable to come to terms, it's anyone's guess who else might feature at center ice come opening night. The Rangers have a number of options, and could go with a variety of line combinations. Vaclav Prospal can play either center or wing and if the Rangers can't figure out something with Dubinsky, then they'll certainly consider him there. Artem Anisimov is coming off a strong AHL season and has impressed many including head coach John Tortorella, and could potentially get a shot at the third line spot. Fourth line duties could come down to a battle between Brian Boyle and Tyler Arnason, with Boyle a bit of an unproven commodity and Arnason on a downward trend since leaving the Blackhawks several seasons ago. Corey Locke would appear unlikely to get much of a look and be destined for Hartford, but he'll get a chance to show the coach what he can do. Joining him in Hartford will be Paul Crowder and Brodie Dupont, while 2009 draftees Ryan Bourque and Roman Horak will head to juniors. Daniel Bartek earned himself an invite with some good play in the Traverse City tournament, and he and Matt Maccarone will be playing for AHL contracts.

LEFT WING

LOCKS:	Sean Avery, Donald Brashear, Christopher Higgins
BUBBLE:	Dane Byers, Evgeny Grachev, Dan Lacouture, Patrick Rissmiller, Aaron Voros
MINORS:	Devin DiDiomete (ECHL/AHL), P.A. Parenteau (AHL)
Notes: In terms of those considered locks for the off-wing, Sean Avery, Chris Higgins and Donald Brashear appear to be certainties. Who they'll play with is yet to be determined, but Brashear will likely be on the fourth line. The Rangers could also slot Prospal in on the left if they elect to go with Anisimov at the center spot. Grachev has a shot with a good camp also, but is likely to head to Hartford first. Aaron Voros and Patrick Rissmiller are candidates for 13th forward if the Rangers elect to carry extra early in the season, though both would have to clear waiver to go to Hartford. Byers will likely only get a shot if there are injuries on the fourth line after missing a good deal of time last season to injury.. Don't expect DiDiomete to get much of a look, and Parenteau might earn a late cut, but is almost certainly destined for Hartford too.

RIGHT WING

MINORS:	Jordan Owens (AHL), Justin Soryal (AHL), Dale Weise (AHL)
Notes: The right wing has a reasonable amount of depth for the Rangers, with four players who've scored 20+ goals in an NHL season before and an AHL roster that, while not impressive, contains plenty of options. The key to sorting out the depth will likely be the decision on who plays left and who plays right. Marian Gaborik is the clear favorite to play on the top line, but after that the situation becomes less clear. Ales Kotalik and Enver Lisin could both play left wing, and perhaps will end up doing so if the Rangers decide to try and build a scoring line. Ryan Callahan will slot into either second or third line and the fourth line spot will possibly be up for grabs, but likely to go to one of the centers or left wingers who'll get reassigned to the right. Dale Weise earned himself some extra camp time last year, and could well stick around a little longer again this year, but with all those in front of him, it seems unlikely he'll stick. Andres Ambuhl might get a look, but would have to have an outstanding camp to make the roster. None of the rest of the roster appears likely to make the team out of camp, but with six players, one or two may find themselves assigned to Charlotte or risk sitting on the bench early in the year.

DEFENSE

BUBBLE:	Michael Del Zotto, Matt Gilroy, Ilkka Heikkinen, Corey Potter, Bobby Sanguinetti, Michael Sauer, Alexei Semenov
MINORS:	Trevor Glass (AHL), Brian Henley (ECHL/AHL), Sam Klassen (ECHL/AHL), David Urquhart (AHL), Nigel Williams (AHL)
Notes: If you're looking for a rookie to make the Rangers' roster out of camp, it's likely going to be on defense. The team has several players who will compete for the two vacant spots behind the front four of Dan Girardi, Wade Redden, Michal Rozsival and Marc Staal. Corey Potter and Michael Sauer possible have an inside track on one of those spots, if the Rangers elect to go with a more steady defender, while Matt Gilroy, Michael Del Zotto and Bobby Sanguinetti will likely battle for the other spot. At this stage it looks as if Gilroy might have the inside track, Del Zotto would have to make the team or spend a final year in the OHL. Sanguinetti looks a longer shot, but with a strong camp he could make a play for that final position. Down in Hartford the competition is likely to be fierce and even guys like Illkka Heikkinen and Nigel Williams might find themselves late cuts at camp. David Urquhart (signed to an AHL contract) will return to Hartford, while other newcomers, including Tomas Kundratek, will battle for depth spots. 6-7 Brian Henley earned an AHL contract a couple of weeks ago and will play in the minors.

Notes: If there's one position in camp that looks set already, it's goaltender. The Rangers will likely not make any changes to that which finished last season. Henrik Lundqvist will resume the starting role in New York, backed up once again by Stephen Valiquette. There's likely to be a modest battle for the two spots in Hartford, though Matt Zaba and Miika Wiikman look likely to once again share duties there. Chad Johnson has an outside chance of jumping over either of them, but will likely have to prove himself in the pro game first down in Charlotte. Scott Stajcer will return to the OHL.
